INVESTIGATING INTERACTIVE MEDIA PRODUCTION
WHAT IS INTERACTIVE MEDIA?
Interactive Media is moving images, animations, video and audio, graphics and more. Unlike any other media, interactive media allows people to be able to interact with other people's work such as being able to comment on it whereas Digital Media is what you see every time you go on a computer, mobile phone and tablet. There are four different types of digital media which is Social Media, Websites, Ebooks and Blogs to which the digital media can also be in many different forms such as podcasts, videos, music, adverts, news articles and more.
Just like when you are having a conversation with somebody in real life, Digital Media and Interactive Media are both a two way process. There are many different forms of communication on electronic devices such as live chats, direct messages, group messages and comment sections which helps us stay in touch with people when we cannot be with there with them. For example, in Digital Media if a company had just released a new project and wanted to know what their clients thought of the product they could publish a post onto Instagram asking for genuine feedback which their clients would have the opportunity to give by commenting on their post. Or another way a company could connect with their customers through Interactive and Digital Media is by emailing them with a quick survey after they have received the product they have purchased, by doing this the company can work out what they need to improve on next and it leaves the customer feeling as though they had a personal connection and a good experience with the brand.
